Bradley Wonder became a vegetarian because he didn’t like the effects of animal farming on the environment, and now he's challenging himself to go vegan and blog about it at Vegan For a Year. “If I believed that humans could live healthier lives eating meat, dairy or eggs, I would be for it, but what I’ve learned leads me to believe the opposite,” he says.
Wonder says the hardest part of eating vegan is that restaurant and grocery store meals often aren’t vegan. For example, bread often contains honey. This means that he has to make much of his food at home. “I scrutinize everything I eat, which has caused me to be more conscious of what I eat and how it affects my body.”
His blog is full of recipes and information on the vegan lifestyle, and his project has already inspired at least three people to take on a vegan diet. If you’re considering going vegan, Wonder says do your research, stick with it, and eat a variety of vegetables. Hopefully you’ll experience the same health benefits he has: “I feel better than I did before going vegan."
