Businessman pretends to be homeless and gives back instead
On Christmas Eve, Iowa businessman Jonnie Wright posed as a homeless man on the side of the road and asked for money.
Whenever someone gave him something, Wright handed them an envelope containing a letter and either a $10 or $100 bill.
"Please take the money in this envelope and keep it, spend it, donate it, pay it forward, whatever your heart tells you to do," the letter read.
Wright said he gave out 50 envelopes and collected $363.02, some food and a pair of gloves. He took the cash — as well as hundreds of his own money — and donated $1,000 to the Bethel Mission, a men’s emergency shelter in Des Moines.
