ENVIRONMENTAL JOURNEY: Thanks for the memories! (Photo: rolandojones/Flickr)

To everything there is a season, and this will be my farewell dispatch from Southern California as a Mother Nature Network local correspondent. I'd like to thank MNN for giving me this platform to explore the environmental issues and happenings in my state, and to share my thoughts about them with all of you. This has been an enormously enriching experience!

Staying alert to green events and developments to report has kept me on my eco toes, and has definitely deepened my understanding of environmental matters and appreciation for their importance. Correspondent challenges and story sourcing nudged me outside my comfort zone to encourage my personal evolution, which, along with all the environmental knowledge I gained, was a huge gift.

Now, I surrender my posting duties, and depart with fond memories, an appreciation for an excellent working relationship and a library of articles that document my journey through L.A.'s urban environment during 2010 and 2011.

So long, farewell!
