Mount Shasta
Although it certainly looks calm, the breathtaking Mount Shasta is actually a stratovolcano. No worries, though -- it erupts once every 600 years. So until the time comes for it to explode (there's still a few hundred years to go), people are still free to experience the natural beauty of the second highest peak in the Cascade mountains.
