Do you hate wasting energy? Do you hate not being able to to have a solar panel or wind turbine in your back yard? Well, this is for you.
Connecticut Light and Power, or CL&P, has a program called CT clean energy options. This program allows you to choose where your energy comes from instead of spending your money supporting non-clean energy. You can choose to receive your energy from wind, tidal and many more options.
Consumers have the choice of choosing energy from two companies, either Community Energy INC or Sterling Planet. Customers can also choose where their energy comes from -- it can be one of the following or a mixture: New England Small Hydro, Regional Wind, National Wind and Connecticut Small Hydro.
Choosing this option only adds pennies a month to your energy bill and supports a cleaner, greener Connecticut! Another bonus of this program is CL&P's "20 percent by 2010" program, the purpose of which is to get 20 percent of Connecticut to use CT clean energy options.
If you get individuals -- or even a group, such as a school -- to sign up, you can receive a solar panel for personal or local community use!
