October starts winter rainy season in Hawaii

Though they usually begin in mid-autumn, the winter rains come to the island early.

While Hawaii does not get a traditional winter with fall leaves and snow days, the islands do have a rainy season between October and April. This time of year is usually welcomed, as it brings slightly cooler weather and returns the islands to a beautiful green after a dry summer.
