Job bored?

By D. Baratta, Local CorrespondentFri, Jul 17 2009 at 1:29 PM EST

Some people will say to consider yourself lucky. At least you have a job...

A valid point, of course. But greener pastures do exist. With the right attitude and some dedicated Internet browsing, you can find a job that better suits your interests.

Chicago Environmental Network (CEN), a group of over 200 environmental and natural resource organizations, for example, hosts a web site that lists environmental jobs and internships in the Chicago area -- and you don't always need to be a scientist to qualify. Recent posts include: Grower for Morton Arboretum, Registration Assistant for Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Receptionist for the Environmental Law & Policy Center...the list goes on.

The Green Jobs Network also publishes eco-openings -- which include employers from the private sector, too.

Those who seek are sure to find something. Good luck on the hunt!
