Alaska: No wolf at the door

I am an animal-cruelty freak. I dislike hunting, fur coats, the mistreatment of animals for food, and animal by-products or animal testing for my cosmetics. I try to do my part in helping out shelter animals by visiting The Animal Rescue Site everyday and clicking on their button that gives free food and care to underpriviledged animals. It's free and easy, so why wouldn't I? But every day I visit the site, there are posted links for petitions against animal-cruelty, and this week in particular one caught my eye.
An article titled "Help Us End Alaska's Aerial Wolf Slaughter" described how planes and aircraft hunt wolves from the air and the death toll has reached the thousands. Sarah Palin has "approved a $400,000 state-funded propaganda campaign to promote aerial hunting," and "proposed paying a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf," according to the sites article. They say there is no price to life; how can we justify putting a price tag on an innocent wolf's leg?
