Catch Mother Nature in her costume change
Highlighting the best spot in Bowling Green to watch fall creep in.

The best spot in Bowling Green, Ky. to catch Mother Nature in her costume change is Jackson's Orchard, home to apples, pumpkins, playgrounds and acres of beautiful foliage. My friend J.P. and I decided to drive the curvy back roads to reach our beloved orchard on a bright blue afternoon. Here are some shots courtesy of J.P. Mayer, a Western Kentucky University photo student. I'm the one on the hay bale, enjoying a caramel apple!
If you head out to Jackson's, be sure to try a handmade caramel apple or fried apple pie. And defintely don't forget to try the "Cider Slider," a plastic slide labeled for "School Children Only." University counts, right? Take a hint from the seven year olds and try going down head first; the crisp fall air is invigorating!
