Maine's Common Ground Country FairPeople from all walks of life gather to celebrate rural living in Unity, Maine.By Natalie Deuschle, Local CorrespondentTue, Oct 12 2010 at 5:31 PM EST Every year, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association hosts a fair that celebrates rural and agricultural living in Maine. People from all walks of life and from numerous states in New England travel to the fair in Unity, which hosts a wide variety of activities, from workshops and demonstrations to food vendors and crafts. This year the fair was held during the last weekend of September and saw 59,600 guests. I experienced the fair in a different way than previous years, volunteering with the recycling and composting team. It was both dirty and fun!
Here are some photos taken this year at the fair.
