Spring comes early to MaineTemperatures in the 50s are unusual at this time of year -- and we're loving it.By Natalie Deuschle, Local CorrespondentThu, Mar 11 2010 at 4:03 PM EST Photo: Natalie Deuschle Today in central Maine it is 50 degress. Many people might find that a frigid temperature, but for a state that often receives snow well into April, it is near tropical. Guys and gals can be seen walking around sporting shorts and flip flops and it seems as though everyone's mood has lifted. Around campus, frisbees are flying through the air and soon enough boys will be strolling the campus with golf clubs in hand.
My favorite part of spring in Maine is basking in the sun rays on the campus lawn, pretending to do my homework. It's funny how little work seems to get done around this time of the year. Spring also means that the Waterville Farmers Market will be opening back up soon. Although the waters are still cold, its certainly nice to walk around the shore of any lake or ocean. Last weekend I snapped a few photos as I walked around Macworth Island in Falmouth, Maine, on a beautiful sunny day.
