March 21. In some states this would mean sunshine and budding flowers. In Michigan it's snowing. This hasn't stopped the members of the Owosso High School National Honors Society from grabbing trash bags and hitting the streets of Owosso.
The National Honors Society organized a trash derby in an attempt to help clean up downtown Owosso. The students wanted to teach members of the community that it's important to care for your town. The members also learned something themselves.
"I'll think twice before I throw something like a candy wrapper away," said one student, "I didn't realized how this builds up. I mean, I've picked up like 40 snickers wrappers!"
