Mississippi Department of Marine Resources won first place in the EPA's Gulf Guardian Awards government category for its Mississippi Derelict Crab Trap Removal Program.

Center for Environmental and Economic Justice

EPA presented a 2008 Environmental Justice Achievement Award to the Center for Environmental and Economic Justice for its efforts to address environmental justice concerns in Mississippi’s Turkey Creek Basin.
