Products we love, products we hate: Overpackaging

By , Local CorrespondentWed, Aug 05 2009 at 7:40 PM EST

Other companies should look to the makers of Pure & Natural products to get an idea of what smart packaging looks like. Not only does Pure & Natural's packaging save its own company money, but it helps the environment, too. (Most money and resource-saving measures are also good for the environment). Not only are P & N's soap cartons biodegradable, but they actually contain seeds as well. Even the soap itself is made using a biodegradable formula.

Now for an example of overpackaging...

Love the caption from Flickr: "Is this not the grossest overpackaging you've ever seen? Oh, but wait, they're organic ... so they must be good for the environment. Sigh."

And lastly, this web site that features photos of overpackaged products with great snarky captions. Send in photos of found packaging nightmares here.
