Bergenfield High School to celebrate Earth Month

By Charles Ferrer, Local CorrespondentThu, Apr 16 2009 at 7:58 PM EST

Bergenfield High School's student congress has named April its official environmental month.

The entire school will observe five minutes of conservation by shutting off all classroom lights. The student congress has been raising funds for water projects sponsored by H2O for Life. In addition, the National Honor Society will be establishing a paper-recycling program this month to help bring awareness to the larger community.

I will be making presentations to several science classes to talk about the science behind climate change, what policy makers are doing to combat climate change and the global implication that global warming has on our environment and society.
