Winter is such a beautiful time in Rochester, N.Y., especially downtown in High Falls. High Falls is part of the Genesee Gorge, and visitors and residents alike can enjoy the geologic history. Beautiful foliage in the gorge shows the layers of sandstone and shale from the Devonian period. A pedestrian bridge, which I was standing on when I took this photo, allows people to see the skyline of Rochester and the awe-invoking view of the falls
