Monroe Community College has entered one of the final phases for the completion of a renovated building on campus. Building 9, when finished, will host a new green study room for students and state-of-the-art labs, as well as energy efficient heating and cooling systems. The building is now showing signs of what is yet to come, and I was fortunate to have a first-hand look at the work going on behind the walls. There will be more to come as the building nears completion, but this photo is a shot of the main atrium in progress. Along the left hand wall will be a series of living green walls, and lots of sunlight will stream in from passive solar energy.
