The Pachamama AllianceMon, Jun 08 2009 at 8:49 PM EST
The Pachamama Alliance is a group that seeks to increase the sustainability of the Earth's natural resources. They do so by providing people all over the world with the knowledge and tools to help reduce their global impact. One unique aspect of the Pachamama Alliance is their efforts to educate natives of underdeveloped countries so they are not overrun by the fast-paced industrialization of the modern world. Their ultimate goal is to change the mindset of over-consumption and create harmony between the indigenous people of the rain forest, the environment and the developed world.
I was first introduced to the Pachamama Alliance by one of my professors in Ireland, and I was immediately captivated by its mission. Therefore, I am sharing it with all of you in the hopes that you'll be inspired to get involved. The group holds symposiums to educate others and increase involvement. This video tells the story of the alliance and provides further proof that we all can -- and should -- do our part to preserve the environment.

cool!
That's so great! If you ever get the chance to participate in the awakening the dreamer symposium (in total it's about 2 hours; I went to one at the Nation Power Shift conference in DC earlier this year) I highly recommend it. Definitely a semi-spiritual journey :)
