SunChips in the green bag

I am one of those people who reads the back of the cereal box, nutritional value on the label of my drink or any information on a package while I'm grabbing a quick bite. So, while I was snacking on some SunChips (one of my favorites!), I saw a statement that intrigued me. The bag holding my chips will be "a fully compostable bag by 2010."
Does this mean that I can throw my empty chip bag into my compost pile in my backyard? That just didn't seem right. 2010 is only six months from now, so I didn't quite believe that either.
The bag that is currently on the market is made up of 33 percent renewable materials, and a SunChips plant in Modesto, Calif., is utilizing solar power to cut its use of fossil fuels.
