Chipotle is coming to Nashville

By Olivia Bishop, Local CorrespondentWed, Jun 10 2009 at 2:12 PM EST

Did you know Chipotle is organic?  I didn't.  But Shea Gunther's most recent entry informed me.  They use free-range, hormone-free animal products (though I, of course, order the Vegetarian Burrito).  Big step for a fast-food joint.  They also tout the slow food movement in their preparation techniques.

The chain is everywhere in north Texas where I grew up.  Here in Tennessee, it's nowhere to be found.  If you haven't tried the amazing rice they put into their burritos, you've got to go to the new franchise opening up on West End.  It's purported to open sometime this year, but no details yet.  I'll keep you updated on my favorite organic chain.

Actually the McDonald's Corp. was one of the original investors in Chipotle but they have seen been bought out by the CEO and founder. So there are no more ties to Mickey D's. BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!!
