It is a day made particularly for our Moms. Mother's Day is right around the corner and there can never be too many green ideas for a Mother's Day surprise.
Moms adore flowers. They think they are one of the best gifts, besides hugs and kisses.
A really good idea is creating a bouquet using recycled and/or organic materials. However, flowers don’t live long enough to recycle. The solution to that would be purchasing organic flowers. Most hardware or gardening stores have an organic section available.
It really depends on what your Mom likes -- from alcatraz flowers to roses -- and what your budget will allow.
As soon as you make your selection, find a large empty bottle, jug or a previously used container that can hold the flowers. Make sure to clean out the entire bottle -- that way your flowers will stay alive longer.
If you would like to create a card for Mom, try being eco-conscious and using old papers. Use the other side, if possible.
In fact, if you can, purchase recycled paper for your printer, too!
Did you know?
Up to 80 percent of the content of recovered paper can actually be used in the recycling process.
