The Canadian-born and now global frozen yogurt franchise, Yogen Fruz, added another branch to its family tree in Houston's Galleria.
Launched in 1986 by two brothers in Toronto, Canada, Yogen Fruz started as a small yogurt store with the idea of incorporating health and wellness into a tasty treat. The frozen yogurt chain has grown by leaps and bounds in its 24 years of business, with currently over 1,200 locations in 25 different countries all over the world — and now Houston is in on the action.

In 1999, Entrepreneur Magazine rated Yogen Fruz the number one Franchise in the world. There's no doubt its success is already spreading to its Houston location. On the company's Twitter page, Yogen Fruz retweeted user Christine Ngos saying, "Yogen Fruz has been real busy since the opening last week in Houston. People would come back because they love it so much."
When most of us indulge in frozen yogurt or ice cream, we feel pretty guilty afterwards. Yogen Fruz makes the point that you can enjoy your sweets without feeling the culpability later.
The menu includes original flavors like lychee green tea, chai latte and chocolate almond, among other interesting combinations and you can get the traditional vanilla or chocolate flavors in non-fat, low fat with probiotics or non-fat with no sugar added. Each option is gluten-free.
If you are a smoothie fan, you can choose to have dairy or non-dairy made with sorbet, in flavors like peach berry sunset, blueberry breeze, raspberry blast or tropical storm. Yogen Fruz even gives the option of extras like fruit cups or yogurt parfaits for a sweet summer snack.

Even the toppings at Yogen Fruz are guilt-free, with choices like sliced almonds, granola, various fruits and berries to add the perfect touch to your frozen delicacy.
Yogen Fruz's website keeps customers informed with its official blog, keeping its supporters up-to-date with health news, recipes and information concerning the yogurt franchise. The store strongly encourages using its U Card, a cash card that is helpful for ordering online and can serve as a great gift for any frozen treat-loving friend.
If you happen to be shopping in the Galleria and get an urge for a snack, Yogen Fruz is the perfect new spot in the mall to take a break from the bustle without regretting your indulgence.
