At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 in Clark 108, Van Jones will address the University of Virginia and Charlottesville community. While an increasing number of events and speakers throughout the year address environmental issues, Van Jones will be the biggest of the semester.

One of Time Magazine's "Heroes of the Environment" in 2008, Van Jones has written a top 12 New York Times Bestseller, "The Green Collar Economy." Most recently, he served as the Special Advisor for Green Jobs on Obama's White House Council on Environmental Quality until controversy regarding his past political activities forced him to resign in the fall of 2009.

Come early to claim a seat and stay for the book signing right after the event. The next speaker in the Class Matters Lecture Series will be Janisse Ray, author of "Ecology of a Cracker Childhood" who will visit UVA during Earth Week on April 21 and 22.
