The application process for the Summer 2011 White House Internship Program has commenced. This summer, over 100 different interns will head to the White House to take positions in 18 different departments in the Obama administration.

The summer internship program begins on May 31 and runs through August 12. During this unpaid, full-time internship program, candidates will be working from 9 am until 6 pm daily but hours may vary depending on the specific assignment. In order to qualify for an internship, prospective candidates should be a United States citizen at least 18 years of age and be able to meet one of the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Graduated in the past two years from an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces with a high school diploma or equivalent with active duty experience in the past two years
