Cushman & Wakefield's United States-based portfolio includes more than 3,200 properties. The commercial property management giant has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Environmental Protection Agency committing itself to making sustainability changes at its 265 million square feet in commercial property holdings.
"The MOU sets out environmental best practices designed to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint, promote water conservation and minimize waste within Cushman & Wakefield’s corporate offices and in properties under management." Source: Cushman & Wakefield
Attention to the environmental impact of its holdings is not a new undertaking for the firm, in 1999 Cushman & Wakefield became an EPA ENERGY STAR partner and it is currently a member of the U.S. Green Building Council's Portfolio Program (currently in pilot stage).
