Attention green jobs seekers in the Providence, R.I., area: a free green jobs workshop will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center on Sunday, Aug. 9. The workshop begins at 1 p.m. and will cater towards individuals who want to learn more about the green job opportunities available in the area.

The conference will begin with opening remarks from Sandy Morgan (USDA) and Alison Rodgers (Green the Capitol). Following the opening address, the following topics will be covered by a variety of green jobs specialists:

  • Green Job and Training Opportunities under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
  • Working in Green Building Construction and Renewables
  • Training for a Green Career
These three workshops are scheduled to end at 3 p.m. At that point, conference attendees can participate in a variety of small, interactive sessions featuring members of the private, public,and nonprofit sectors.
