Green The Block is a collaboration between the Hip Hop Caucus and Green For All. The focus of the group is “to educate and mobilize low-income communities and communities of color to ensure a voice and stake in the clean-energy economy.” Source: Green The Block

 

To help launch the campaign, several members of the Obama administration held a press conference at the White House on August 4. Attendees included HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, DOE Under Secretary Kristina Johnson and Van Jones, Green Jobs Director.

 

Following the press conference, Jones joined Christine Glunz for a live streaming chat on Facebook and the White House website to discuss the Green the Block campaign.
