Businesses, consumers, media and others interested in green jobs have descended on Washington, D.C., for the 2009 Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference.  The conference started with the Green Jobs Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill.  As part of its Advocacy Day activities, the Blue Green Alliance named House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as the first recipient of the Green Jobs Champion Award.

“The California Democrat was a moving force in the CLEAN Energy Act of 2007, passage of the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act (H.R.6049), as well as the recent passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which includes heavy investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy.” Source: GreenBiz.com
