Politicians in Washington, D.C., are playing their favorite game — politics. During his most recent weekly address, President Obama challenged Republicans in Congress to allow several important pieces of legislation to come up for a vote.

 

These bills would provide a boost to the nation's economic recovery, help ensure that oil companies are held completely liable for the oil disasters that happen due to their negligence, and extend unemployment benefits for Americans who lost their jobs because of the downturn in the economy. This open challenge to Republicans in Congress comes just before the president is scheduled to meet with a bipartisan group to discuss America's burgeoning clean energy economy.
