The Second Glass
product gives us a glimpse into the lifecycle of a broken windshield. The company recycles broken windshields into products that can be used in a variety of ways and in several different applications including walls, dividers and partitions. I don’t know if I’m just unlucky in the windshield department but I can easily go through a windshield a year thanks to construction trucks flipping up rocks on the freeway. I’ve always wondered what happens to the old windshield once it leaves my car and now I know where some may end up.
I also think that the Strand Poplar Flooring product by EcoTimber
is great. The company uses waste from China-based furniture and paper factories and then cold presses them into a rock that is made into flooring. The product is ultra durable and comes with a 25-year commercial warranty against construction defects. If the product is installed in a residential setting, this protection is extended to a lifetime warranty.
