Approximately 100 people attended a green jobs workshop sponsored by Congressman Neil Abercrombie in Honolulu, Hawaii.  The event, held yesterday, featured a live teleconference by Van Jones, the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s Special Advisor for Green Jobs.

The focus of the event was to help individuals in both the public and private sectors, as well as educators, learn how to tap into federal stimulus dollars to enhance Hawaii’s green economy.

The workshop covered several topics including “current and emerging green job opportunities, green workforce development, the role of community colleges in educating a green workforce, developing and growing a green economy, the building industry’s role in this area, and renewable energy initiatives.”  Source: Congressman Neil Abercrombie
