President Obama is continuing his push for green jobs and a clean energy economy. This week he visited Solyndra, a solar panel manufacturer, in Fremont, California. California is definitely a hot bed for green jobs
– the construction of the Solyndra facility is responsible for 3,000 jobs and approximately 1,000 long-term new jobs could be created.
During his speech, President Obama said that investing in clean energy is “the right thing to do for our environment, it’s the right thing to do for our national security, but it’s also the right thing to do for our economy.” Source: White House
With oil continuing to spill out into the Gulf of Mexico, it is definitely the right thing to do for our environment. Reducing our dependence on foreign oil will help our national security and of course creating new green jobs will be a boon to our economy.
