During his speech, the president highlighted the American Jobs Act including a proposal to invest $25 billion in school infrastructure projects. If funded, a minimum of 35,000 public schools in communities across the nation would receive much-needed upgrades. The school district and the students would benefit from the upgrades but so would the many out of work or underemployed construction workers.
