Watch: President Obama's Google+ town hallIf you missed President Obama's Google + hangout, the White House has the full video available now. Tue, Jan 31 2012 at 8:01 PM EST
Yesterday President Obama joined a live chat via Google+ to answer questions about his State of the Union address, the state of the nation’s economy and more. While many people participated in the chat, one Texas couple may have gotten a lot more out of the experience than they expected. Fort Worth, Texas resident Jennifer Wedel asked about H1B Visas and mentioned that her husband, a semiconductor engineer, had been without work for three years. President Obama’s response to this statement caught Wedel and most of America off-guard.
"If you send me your husband's resume, I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening right there, because the word we're getting is, is that somebody in that kind of high-tech field, that kind of engineer, should be able to find something right away."
That’s right, President Obama asked for Mr. Wedel’s resume and evidently the unemployed semiconductor engineer has already responded to that request.
