The economy is officially picking up, but the jobless rates are only mildly slowing down. Economists have predicted this jobless recovery for months and while I’m not an economist myself, it appears that these predictions are coming to fruition. This video highlights three different green jobs programs that are designed to help residents in underserved communities get back to work and on a rewarding career track.

These three case studies highlight green jobs, but they also have something else in common — a grassroots advocacy base. According to the video, combining grassroots efforts with green equity and good government will help the nation break out of this jobless recovery and on to a full-fledged nationwide recovery.
