The May 2012 unemployment rate was 8.2 percent but what does that mean? How is that figure calculated? It isn’t as simple as the government counting up the number of unemployment checks printed each month and transferring that to the unemployment report. As CNN correspondent Tom Foreman explains, there is quite a bit more to it than that.
