White House launches the Veterans Job Bank

A new online portal will help Veterans find jobs after returning from abroad.

The unemployment rate among U.S. Veterans is significantly higher than the average unemployment rate. In August, when 9.1

percent of the nation was unemployed, this rate was 13.3 percent for U.S. Veterans. This is an absolutely unacceptable number and now the White House is taking steps to help our returning soldiers find jobs in this tough economy through the Veterans Job Bank.

Visitors to the website can search for jobs by location or keyword as well as get updated information on other Veteran-related issues including healthcare, housing, homeless assistance and more.
