Stories like this warm my heart – I love reading about the youth stepping up and taking a stand on important issues. The World Changing Careers symposium will feature 200 youth, 50 professionals and a bevy of online viewers to discuss the green jobs of the future.
The symposium begins July 23 and runs through July 27, 2009. Alysia Garmulewicz, a BC Rhodes Scholar, is organizing the event. “Over the next 10 years, 500 million young people will seek jobs that have the potential to redesign our political and economic systems. Now is the time to invest in new ideas and innovation. As Barack Obama says, ‘green jobs are the jobs of the future’,” Garmulewicz states.” Source: World Changing Careers (PDF)
Early bird registration for students is $420 and includes entrance into the conference workshops, the career fair, breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks. If you would like to virtually participate in the event, online registration is free and is available through the World Changing Careers homepage.
