Mike Hanes: Hot sauce entrepreneur

Mike Hanes, aka Forager Mike, went from recon Marine to launching his own business — but not without first making profound life changes, including transforming from homeless veteran to farm student to hot sauce entrepreneur. A chance encounter led to a stint at Archi’s Acres where he enrolled in the veteran’s farm-training program in 2011. After six weeks of intensive coursework and a brainstorm session, he hatched a unique product and found an investor willing to back his vision. DANG!!! hot sauce — yes, that’s three exclamation points for added emphasis — was born. (It’s that good.)
