Is it hard to find jobs in France and do you have to have a degree to receive good pay? I am American dreaming about moving to France! I am in transportation/shipping sales and my husband is an electrician.

Expat since 1977...

i am an american who lives in paris france... here are some of the "benefits" : i get 2 months paid holidays, all medical and kids school paid for fully, doctor house calls; you call and they arrive within 15 mins, check on you, write prescription if required, and it costs about 50 bucks, (you are reimbursed 95% of that). the Pharmacy will home deliver the meds if needed. My eye doc, dentist, gen practitioner are all with 2 blocks of my home. public transportation is cheap and plentiful...i work 35
.... More
hours per week and every other friday off, LOTS of free time to enjoy Paris ! People are not 'nosy', they will never ask your religion or even politcal choices, its very live and let live....everybody is extremely 'civil' and the youth are respectful of elders...people know about and are very in tune with worldwide news/events, not just their own country ( or state of city of 3 surrounding blocks ! )....i have NEVER in 12+ years found one rude waiter, and people are extrmeley accomodating of my not so perfect french language skills...however, there is one funny point. when i explain i am from california, most french joking ask " why do you wish to live in france" ??! i guess grass is always greener over the pond....Vive la France !

reading your share of living in the france i really enjoyed. Your optimistic views about the society and government benefit certainly drew my attention. I live in US but i dream about being in Paris one day. As u said the grass is always green on the other side of the pond it applies to me as well.
