James Bennett Named 2011 Brawny Industrial Great American Worker
Georgia-Pacific honors Bennett and others for their positive contributions

From assembly line operators to civil servants, Georgia-Pacific Professional searched for the unsung heroes and change-makers that are the true champions of the workplace in the 2011 Brawny Industrial™ Great American Worker contest.
After a nationwide search, we selected James Bennett – an engineering manager at Cardone Industries in Harlingen, Texas – for his leadership skills, dedication to his job and commitment to his coworkers.
We are proud to call him the 2011 Brawny Industrial Great American Worker and hope he inspires others to follow his leadership and contribute positively to their workplace and the communities where they live.
“I am reminded of all the hard work that goes into the production and manufacturing of goods and services in this country, and I am honored to be named the Brawny Industrial Great American Worker and represent the many dedicated workers who labor each day,” said Bennett at a ceremony held in his honor. As the grand prize winner, James received a brand-new 2011 Ford F-150 truck.
In addition to naming a national Great American Worker, Georgia-Pacific Professional recognizes three other individuals who excel in key elements that make up a Great American Worker:
- Kenneth Kresen, a truck driver for Dayton Freight in Cicero, Ill., is the category winner for work safety.
- Kenneth Mounts, owner of Calibrated Controls Inc., in Escondido, Calif., is the category winner for worker productivity.
- Chris Ronnebaum, vice president of Field Operations at Hawkeye Construction in Baltimore, Md., is the category winner for community involvement.
We would like to thank all of the individuals that participated in this year’s Brawny Industrial Great American Worker contest, including our celebrity guest judges.
