Georgia-Pacific Professional has a longstanding commitment to streamlined manufacturing and environmental responsibility. From its early days in the late 1920s, the lumber wholesaler that would eventually become Georgia-Pacific developed and used systems that reduce waste – and today, Georgia-Pacific Professional is known as a leader of eco-friendly paper products for restaurants, hotels, hospitals and other businesses.

Georgia Pacific Professional’s newly updated website (http://www.gppro.com/sustainability) reflects the company’s green initiatives, including its “Green by Design” and other products, Environmental Protection Agency compliance efforts, and numerous product certifications, such as the widely respected EcoLogo seal.

“We’ve always had a commitment to provide sustainable solutions – now our website is a resource center for those looking to learn more about the environmental benefits of our products and services,” said Bill Sleeper, president of Georgia-Pacific Professional. “The site reflects our dedication to processes and products that are technologically and environmentally sound.”

Georgia-Pacific Professional lives up to the Environmental Protection Agency’s “reduce, reuse and recycle” motto – offering more than 60 products that meet or exceed EPA guidelines, and 200 products that contain at least 95 percent recycled fiber.

Georgia-Pacific Professional’s Green by Design program includes sustainable products – such as paper napkins and cups that are made from recycled materials, as well as complementary waste-minimizing dispensers. Since 2007, the Green by Design program labels qualified products with a “reduce, reuse and recycle” designation.
