If you can't believe the calendar already says December, you're not alone. It's not as if I didn't know it was coming. In fact, I ushered it in by falling asleep to George Winston's "December." Yet, here I am thinking, "Where did the year go?"

As much as I love the holiday season, I never seem to have the huge budget I promised myself a year ago. Here it is, the next year, and my budget is tight ... again. With holiday entertaining, I end up spending more on food than I do other months. I do what I can to save money on food by combining the savings from grocery apps on my iPhone with coupons from the Sunday circular and those found online.

There are several good online coupons this month, especially for ingredients used in holiday baking.
