Watch: Fiscal cliff and food safety

If no fiscal cliff deal is reached, mandatory budget cuts could have an impact on food safety.

Time is quickly running out for Congress and the President to reach a deal to avoid going over the fiscal cliff. There are a whole host of issues that surround the fiscal cliff timeline but one topic that I don’t see mentioned very often is the issue of food safety. If no fiscal cliff deal is reached, mandatory cuts at both the FDA and the USDA could negatively impact food safety here in the United States.
