Ron Paul is popular among fiscal conservatives and a quick look at his economic plan shows us the reason behind this popularity. Ron Paul’s plan, should he be elected as the next President of the United States, would cut $1 trillion in spending in the first year alone.
So how would Paul shave $1 trillion in spending in a single year? According to CNN, the savings would come through the elimination of the Department of Energy, HUD, the Department of Commerce, the Interior Department and the Department of Education. These cuts would help Paul eliminate 440,000 federal government jobs. Additional savings would be realized through the elimination of the Federal Reserve, reduced military spending and more.
