Bill Bartmann's collection agency, CFS II, takes a different approach than most other agencies: Instead of pressuring people to pay, its employees show debtors how to make more money.

As he told CBS news, "People in debt don't have money, so why brow beat them?"

The company's employees help people renegotiate their debt, they counsel them, they even help them fill out job applications.

"If I can get you out of debt, you will have more money to pay me later," Bartmann says.

And his plan is working. By being nice, Bartmann is making 200 percent than his competitors.
