I just came across this video on Upworthy that shares some sad statistics about females in leadership roles in the nation. According to the video, 44 percent of 8-year-old girls want to be leaders when they grow up. By the time these girls are teens, nine out of 10 will have not rejected the idea of being a leader despite that female leaders are underrepresented in the business world, in the world of charity leadership and in government. As a society, we need to do more to support our girls in their leadership ambitions.
