LA’s Go Green Expo

The LEED certified Los Angeles Convention Center will host LA Go Green Expo on Jan. 22-24, 2010.

Wed, Dec 23 2009 at 2:10 PM EST

After watching Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth, trade show producer Bradford Rand was motivated to help do his part to address climate change. His answer was the creation of the Go Green Expo. The expos are held every year in cities across the country, bringing together business owners, community activists and everyday people to learn more about how they can “go green” and make a difference. The 2010 Los Angeles Go Green Expo will be held at the LEED certified Los Angeles Convention Center from Jan. 22-24, 2010. The business-to-business expo is on Friday, Jan. 22 and then the convention center opens its doors to the public on Saturday and Sunday.

The L.A. event will bring out some of Ecollywood's finest to speak at the event including eco-activist Ed Begley Jr. Begley’s television series, Living with Ed, highlights some of the creative and even extreme ways that Begley and his wife, Rachelle Carson, use to go green. Other speakers scheduled to appear include Mariel Hemingway, who will discuss how to live a healthy lifestyle, and Raw Organic Chef Bryan Au.

The event will feature more than 250 exhibitors, interactive seminars, educational workshops, an eco-film festival and a green marketplace.

Business buyers can attend the Friday expo at no charge; a business card is all that is needed for admission. The general public can purchase a two-day pass for only $10 to attend the weekend events. Discounted tickets are available for senior citizens, students and military families ($5) and children under 12 are free. For more information or to buy your tickets online, visit the Go Green Expo website.

Other Go Green Expo events planned in 2010 include New York City (3/19-3/21), Philadelphia (4/16–4/18), and Atlanta (5/21-5/23). More cities will likely be added to this list as the new year begins.
