One of this year’s CNN Heroes is 14 year-old Cassandra Lin of Westerly, Rhode Island. At the age of 10, Lin founded Project TGIF, Turning Grease Into Fuel. Project TGIF works to reclaim used cooking grease from local restaurants so that it can be converted into biodiesel to heat area homes. To date, Lin’s organization has collected 127,000 gallons of cooking oil, created 100,000 gallons of biodiesel and offset 2 million pounds of carbon. What’s not to love about this teenaged eco-entrepreneur?
