World Water Day is March 22 and the Surfrider Foundation is holding a video contest in honor of one of the Earth’s most precious natural resources: water. This isn’t just a typical video contest, however; supporters need to submit a three-second video. That’s right, you will need to get your point across in just three seconds.

 

Why the three-second rule? Simple. “Water is the foundation for all life on the planet. Sadly, it only takes a few seconds to pollute water, spoiling it for everyone to use and enjoy,” says Matt McClain, Surfrider Foundation’s director of marketing and communications. “We created The 3 Second Movie Contest for World Water Day to celebrate clean water and also raise awareness about water quality issues and how they affect us all.”

 

To enter the contest, simply record your three-second water-themed video and submit it to the Surfrider Foundation via email to 3secMovie@surfrider.org. Prize packages filled with gear from Teva and GoPro will be awarded to three winners on World Water Day, March 22. You'll need to act quickly: the deadline for the contest is March 13, 2012.
